Skagway Explorer

Day-Trip to Skagway in a comfortable minibus or van (group size 5-9 guests). Follow the exciting footsteps of the Klondike Gold Rush featuring Emerald Lake, Carcross and White Pass & Yukon Railroad.

Our day trip to Skagway is an unmissable experience for all guests wishing to get to know the beautiful south of Yukon, the White Pass and its unique sceneries and Skagway, the coast and gold town in Alaska during a short journey.

On route to Skagway, we will make a stop at the glossy green Emerald Lake. Its water surface is saturated in intense colours caused by the deposited sediments. After we set foot to the Carcross Desert, the world’s smallest desert, feeling its fine sand, we pay a visit to the small settlement Carcross, where we will be able to learn more about First Nations’ history and explore the settlement’s restaurants, cafes and art shops.

As we travel on South Klondike Highway, several opportunities to view the majestic mountains and landscapes offer themselves. At several stops, you will have the chance to photograph and film the scenery, and soon you will realize that White Pass and its exceptional landscape draw you in like it has drawn in many a person before.

Skagway, once the point of departure for most gold prospectors during the big Klondike Gold Rush, is a colourful medley during summer when guests from all around the world stroll around its numerous restaurants, souvenir shops and jewellers.
We will explore this thrilling town up close, not merely travel the trodden paths but serene places like a gorgeous waterfall. Both on the way in and out of Skagway there is a chance we will encounter the wildlife of the region, such as black bears, grizzlies, moose and other animals.

We will pick you up at your hotel at 8:30 a.m. and travel on Alaska Highway and the winding South Klondike Highway towards Carcross and Skagway. During the trip, we will entertain you with beverages and snacks. In Carcross and Skagway, there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy a tasty lunch.

We will take you back to your hotel in Whitehorse at around 6:30 p.m.

Aurora Hunting

Aurora / Northern Lights Hunting Trip in a comfortable minibus or van (group size 5-9 guests). Touch the Northern Lights!

Canada’s High North is famous for its nature, its wildlife, endless lands and above all, the mystical Northern lights. Aurora Borealis provides an astonishing spectacle in these areas, especially during winter. Our “Aurora Hunting” tour will take you to numerous vantage points, ensuring a perfect view towards the polar lights. Hot tea pops and snacks will be provided for you during this four-hour tour. If desired, we are happy to give you an introduction to Aurora photography and its beautiful subtleties so that you can take some unforgettable memories of your encounter with the northern lights. (tripod required)

We will pick you up from your hotel at 10 p.m., leaving the city’s light polluted sky behind us and heading towards the northern lights. To ensure the best chances of gazing at Aurora Borealis, we will not travel to one pre-determined location but instead visit several different vantage points. We will drive you back to your hotel at around 2 a.m.

Notice:
While the northern lights are always in the night sky, their intensity is dependent on solar activity. Skies free from clouds are necessary to catch a perfect view of the mystical northern lights. We strive to ensure our customers have the best possible experiences, but unfortunately, have no power over the weather. Thus, we cannot always guarantee a successful Aurora Hunting mission. Despite climate change, temperatures in the Canadian North can drop to -30C and colder. Choose adequate clothing (layers) and make sure to protect the uncovered parts of your body, especially your hands and face, when photographing.

Rental gear is optionally available.

Yukon’s South – Emerald Lake & Carcross

Trip to Carcross in a comfortable minibus or van (group size 5-9 guests). Picturesque Emerald Lake & charming Carcross.

The south of the Yukon has a lot to offer: magnificent, blueish green, sediment-coloured lakes like Emerald Lake, unique mountain ranges and the world’s smallest desert. It’s a breath-taking experience, “Larger Than Life.” Furthermore, the region is linked to the history of the First Nations and their multi-faceted culture and impressive craftsmanship.

As we travel to the small settlement of Carcross, we will experience all of these elements first hand. With a little luck and keen eyes, we will spot one or even several wild animals along the roadsides. We will make a stop at Emerald Lake, famous far beyond Yukon for its magical blue-greenish colours. We will feel the fine sand of the Carcross Desert, the world’s smallest desert and hear a fascinating history lesson about Carcross, which is short for Caribou Crossing, teaching us about the First Nations’ settlement’s history during the Klondike Gold Rush.

Carcross has more to it than just its history: Enjoy a break in a cafe or restaurant, browse and shop in the souvenir and art shops, or relax on Bennett Lake’s beautiful sandy beach.

We will pick you up at your hotel at 10:30 a.m. and travel to Yukon’s south, first on Alaska Highway, then on the curvy South Klondike Highway. We will supply you with pops and snacks during our trip. Additionally, you can choose to have lunch in one of Carcross’ cafes and restaurants.

Atlin – “Little Switzerland of the North” × × × × × × ×
Atlin – “Little Switzerland of the North”

Atlin – “Little Switzerland of the North”

Day-Trip to Atlin in a comfortable minibus or van (group size 5-9 guests). An exhilaration natural and picturesque small town.

Atlin is a small gold-digging settlement situated in the Northwest of Canada’s British Columbia. During the 1920s, the settlement became known as “Little Switzerland of the North” due to its mountainous surroundings, gaining a reputation as an exotic holiday destination.

Before that, the Atlin Gold Rush made Atlin one of the most profitable regions amidst the big Klondike Gold Rush. The Atlin region was already inhabited by mainland Tlingit peoples long before the arrival of explorers and gold prospectors.

We will pick you up from your hotel at 9:30 and will make our way on Alaska Highway moving southeastwards. We will ride along the source of Yukon RiverMarsh Lake, being Yukon River’s widening, four kilometres in width and having lent his name to the whole territory. We will make a small stop at Marsh Lake to enjoy a fabulous view at its sandy beach.

We will continue our trip to Jakes Corner, taking us to Little Atlin Lake and heading south towards Atlin. Atlin Road is an impressive road running along small lakes, mountain ranges and the vast Atlin Lake. The view along the way is just breathtaking and, as you will be able to attest, Atlin gained the nickname “Little Switzerland of the North” for a good reason.

Once we arrive in Atlin, we will have a closer look at the historic gold mining village and the ‘MV Tarahne’ and will learn a good deal about the village’s captivating history. We will then take a visit to Atlin’s small museum before taking some steps in the fine sand of Atlin Lake’s shore. On days when visibility is right, we will even be able to gaze at Llewellyn Glacier across the other side of the lake. We will finish the tour with the visit of a small, beautifully situated waterfall.

If one wishes, a helicopter flight can be booked at this point. It will take passengers over the magnificent area around Llewellyn Glacier for an incomparable view.

During the trip, we will entertain you with beverages and snacks. You will also be able to enjoy a tasty lunch in Atlin. As our journey ends, you will arrive back to your hotel in Whitehorse at around 5:30 p.m.

Our exclusive day trip to Haines Junction and Kluane National Park is a terrific opportunity to explore one of Canada’s most beautiful National Parks first-hand. With countless photographic opportunities to come, make sure you have your camera with enough memory space with you for the trip.

In Haines Junction, we will pay a visit to one of the prettiest visitor centres of Canada and will hear a lot about the First Nations, the National Park and the largest non-polar ice field in the world situated within the park.
After that, we will take a small stroll along Kathleen Lake, which is already within the borders of Kluane National Park, enjoying its serenity and view stunning view to the mountains.

At this point, we recommend you take the optional round-flight over Canada’s fourth-largest National Park. It will be an experience you will remember for years to come.
